<br />
But from 20th of July 2020 without any announcement from EE the Windows 10 option is removed.</br>
<br>
As I'm sure most other users are aware you can't cast your mobile BT app to your TV or PC because the app refuses unless you pay extra.<br />
<br />
However there is a very easy workaround.<br />
Download a small program called <a href="https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/tree/v1.9" rel="noopener" target="_blank" title="Download and instructions">scrcpy</a> to your PC, connect your phone to the PC via USB and your mobile screen will be mirrored on the PC .<br />
<br />
This is totally legal and doesn't break any rules.<br />
It requires you switch your phone USB debugging on.
<br />
<br />
Obviously it wasn't made just to watch BT Sports with, you can use it to run all your apps on your PC.
<br />
All the very simple instructions are at the download site <a href="https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/tree/v1.9">https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/tree/v1.9</a><br />

Battery life is now much improved and everything seems much faster response wise.<br />
I am now using <a href="https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=eu.chainfire.mobileodin.pro" target="_blank">mobile ODIN pro by ChainFire</a> to install my updates.<br />
Advantages to this are you just place the update file on your external memory card and mobile ODIN pro automatically installs everything in the correct order.<br />
If you choose the everoot method it will keep your device rooted.<br />
It also installs a copy of itself as a system app so it's ready for your next upgrade.<br />
Below you will see Mobile ODIN ready to flash update.<br />

Installing straight over the top of the previous version using Odin gave no problems.<br />
This time I decided to eliminate the problem I had last when rooting by using a different method.<br />
This time I used <a href="http://download.chainfire.eu/229/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.zip" target="_blank">CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300</a> and unzipped then applied with Odin, no problems. <br />

I'm sure they don't test it out before they post their methods.<br />
The Galaxy S3 doesn't have the stock Android camera or Gallery Apps so you can't just install the 4.3 gallery APK that is doing the rounds because it is meant to update a stock app that isn't there.<br />
So the easiest way is to install the Jelly Bean 4.2 package as a zip from a custom recovery like CWM.<br />
Once that is done you will find you have a extra camera app and a extra gallery app both different to the Samsung stock ones.<br />
Now you can install the update to the new camera app which is from Jelly Bean 4.3.<br />
The 4.2 zip package can be found <a href="https://mega.co.nz/#!7EhwiCwD!aDeZmnpMa1cBCwnxRNWA8kxluIJ4iMOfBaCqAVzv0z4" target="_blank">here </a>now don't unzip this but save to the root of the SD on the S3, then reboot into recovery and install it from there.<br />
Now download this <a href="https://mega.co.nz/#!rYZXmaiZ!SdnllVymOjgf3awn_xaReRnYv-Q6baW0KYqGZpwgsLU" target="_blank">APK</a> to the S3 and install by clicking on it.<br />
That's it you now have 4.3 Photosphere camera installed, it actually seems to be the same as the Kit Kat 4.4 one. Version is 1.1.40012.<br />
<br />

<br /></div>
Samsung have released Jelly Bean 4.3 I9300XXUGMJ9 for the S3 GT-I9300 OTA by Vodafone Ireland.<br />
So I thought must have that. I downloaded the package from <a href="http://www.hotfile.com/dl/253479843/5ffe688/I9300XXUGMJ9_I9300VFGGMJ5_VDI.zip.html" target="_blank">here</a> then using ODIN 3.07 from <a href="http://www.android.gs/download-odin-3-07/" target="_blank">here</a> installed it in the usual fashion.<br />
After it was installed I used CF auto root from <a href="http://download.chainfire.eu/196/CF-Root/SGS3/CF-Root-SGS3-v6.4.zip?retrieve_file=1" target="_blank">here</a> to give me root access however the SuperSU binary would not install so had to be done manually by applying <a href="http://download.chainfire.eu/351/" target="_blank">SuperSU zip</a> via clockwork recovery. <br />
It isn't much different to the leaked JB 4.2.2 that I was running previously but is much faster and uses less memory, it doesn't appear buggy it's the finished article.<br />
There is no Vodafone Logos or branding on the phone after installing except for 5 apps which can be hidden, see below.<br />

Install any file manager (for ex: Total Commander)<br />
2. Open /efs/imei/mps_code.dat file and modify it with CSC which you need BTU for UK (CSC must be included in the firmware)<br />
3. Turn off the tablet, hold VolumeUP + Power (This is needed to enter tablet into the recovery mode), in recovery you will see text like "Applied Multi-CSC:BTU "<br />
4. That's it.<br />
<br />
You may find that you need root on anything above ICS. Is it just me or is it as the smart phones get bigger their boxes get smaller?<br />

The<a href="http://davemartinsmusicblog.blogspot.co.uk/2009/02/my-new-t-mobile-g1-phone.html" target="_blank"> G1</a> is running FROYO 2.2.1, the <a href="http://davemartinsmusicblog.blogspot.co.uk/2010/11/samsung-galaxy-s-running-froyo.html" target="_blank">Galaxy S</a> is running GINGERBREAD 2.3.6 and the Galaxy S III is running ICECREAMSANDWICH 4.0.4 . All are rooted and network unlocked.<br />
I only picked the Galaxy S III up from T Mobile at 14:30 on Friday the 6th of July and by 09:30 on the Saturday it was Rooted, SIM unlocked and running the latest ICS version of Android. Would've been quicker but I went to the pub Friday night! <br />
The Galaxy S III is fantastically fast look at the Quadrant score for it.<br />
Go here for the Quadrant score for my Galaxy S after tweaking it some time ago, what a difference?<br />

This way I can put a SIM from any network in it. So turns out that there is a video showing you how to do it here, <iframe title="YouTube video player" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Swe5O5pChyo" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="349" width="560"></iframe><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVGtmypJbAWZGXCLeb7DnTf1XGb034oV4tCK1FV8thjuYhyphenhyphenZqu4c5gMykJznQx87XQAK7pPm-TzxVNdOzTmL8-yCQV5D7b_efDRKd7KBb2IWNPfwpOjRODNovHo_X6AO4Oj3crnGtPJms/s1600/SC20110415-152309.png"><img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 192px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVGtmypJbAWZGXCLeb7DnTf1XGb034oV4tCK1FV8thjuYhyphenhyphenZqu4c5gMykJznQx87XQAK7pPm-TzxVNdOzTmL8-yCQV5D7b_efDRKd7KBb2IWNPfwpOjRODNovHo_X6AO4Oj3crnGtPJms/s320/SC20110415-152309.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5596483544156063218" border="0" /></a><div style="text-align: left;"><br />It's actually the second attempt that works, here's the proof that my phone is unlocked. I have tried SIMs from UK networks T-Mobile, Orange, O2 and Vodafone all worked perfectly. So now onto the upgrade.<br /><br /></div>Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-60023575957832616982011-01-09T15:09:00.001+00:002011-01-09T15:32:17.333+00:00Android apps that I am using<p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-dJDHTp7tTON7IOKIc1fDU8ACsFkGtVXkmQqSI6rPqHWrgBZQeWHWU6dZgytxwWJglXNeKT0gqrVoJcm08zdjCDfEMzQpto5QHqdZdFhv6ummjrVCBoMjAw1akF4DbP0imC4RDxWYTSc/s1600/SC20110109-125722-743950.png"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-dJDHTp7tTON7IOKIc1fDU8ACsFkGtVXkmQqSI6rPqHWrgBZQeWHWU6dZgytxwWJglXNeKT0gqrVoJcm08zdjCDfEMzQpto5QHqdZdFhv6ummjrVCBoMjAw1akF4DbP0imC4RDxWYTSc/s320/SC20110109-125722-743950.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560203863385418994" /></a></p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-KvCklbZAGGhdmAdhCqR4s_B3nCwKycJV-bjjhWi7UXRAtaJ4r7Y2nxCpDpHHOEJzxoftHay3m5gyQ8MnBabUZcJ3IcBFrVkPLINiaaaDqdtZvu4QQ5_kp08-ZJz6vbKnc-xSXWMePSQ/s1600/SC20110109-125739-745344.png"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-KvCklbZAGGhdmAdhCqR4s_B3nCwKycJV-bjjhWi7UXRAtaJ4r7Y2nxCpDpHHOEJzxoftHay3m5gyQ8MnBabUZcJ3IcBFrVkPLINiaaaDqdtZvu4QQ5_kp08-ZJz6vbKnc-xSXWMePSQ/s320/SC20110109-125739-745344.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560203869897393154" /></a></p><p class="mobile-photo"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-hhqeg0OODNgYto3uPycCtdacgWx2zlMEaxrTaTK_EnWygE3sOlybfploRyIm1tOZ_7UMlobsPBa2l3tLqFx6uIoL9vWCCRkb9YUEt9XsahlYiHnXZkX4opndHRvvQGrlpGUdpWg8z1M/s1600/SC20110109-125759-746139.png"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-hhqeg0OODNgYto3uPycCtdacgWx2zlMEaxrTaTK_EnWygE3sOlybfploRyIm1tOZ_7UMlobsPBa2l3tLqFx6uIoL9vWCCRkb9YUEt9XsahlYiHnXZkX4opndHRvvQGrlpGUdpWg8z1M/s320/SC20110109-125759-746139.png" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560203870591248498" /></a></p>These are the apps I use most, as you see they are functional not frivolous.<p>Sent from Samsung mobile</p>Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-1059435823401869372011-01-09T11:05:00.005+00:002011-01-09T11:45:22.440+00:00Listening to internet radio on AndroidPeople keep asking what I use to listen to internet streams with on my Galaxy S.<br />Well I use an APP called A online radio available free from the Android market place.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxZt7feBTlkcsp-_dX06wmfWRtjQXgYB2MF0GH3N5dwYXRZ7j2oEAbhk_11aVvXJ1NkyYJK_s4QpWDiIsQ9aByl-g8gC5G7SRrUk7AM_C0PRU1Yn_70vzHOVrucmtWqVyxfcW7tJ9PMRg/s1600/SC20110109-105921.png"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 192px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxZt7feBTlkcsp-_dX06wmfWRtjQXgYB2MF0GH3N5dwYXRZ7j2oEAbhk_11aVvXJ1NkyYJK_s4QpWDiIsQ9aByl-g8gC5G7SRrUk7AM_C0PRU1Yn_70vzHOVrucmtWqVyxfcW7tJ9PMRg/s320/SC20110109-105921.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560141409770335634" border="0" /></a><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVEdo291U_AClsv5khEaoEDpqlJeLtETZehcpXkYe17VMcYQ4COA3vsHTgS13bZYLOpn2wxLOmWVP1y_7r2dfF-9rNfpjsdQDAKkuEdKCz0-uAhDrnlLO_-ainGsbZCAXWIWiQ9BkNoKg/s1600/SC20110109-110155.png"><img style="float: right; margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; cursor: pointer; width: 192px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVEdo291U_AClsv5khEaoEDpqlJeLtETZehcpXkYe17VMcYQ4COA3vsHTgS13bZYLOpn2wxLOmWVP1y_7r2dfF-9rNfpjsdQDAKkuEdKCz0-uAhDrnlLO_-ainGsbZCAXWIWiQ9BkNoKg/s320/SC20110109-110155.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5560142027110706274" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The first screen shot shows the APP in the foreground and the second shows it running in the background with the green play button in the notification bar. audio app to have. Well first off I used "Antplayer" but I didn't like the way it worked and it buffered a lot, so then I thought I'd found the best one, "Stream furious", did everything I wanted except for AAC/AAC+. Any way used it everyday for the last few months until a new App appeared, this is called "A Online Radio", now this does everything "Stream Furious" does plus the AAC/AAC+ formats inaddition to mp3/m3u/pls.<br /></div>If it covered the mms:// format it would be perfect.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><div style="text-align: left;">The other streaming media player that I've been playing with is Beeb player, now this lets you watch live BBC TV plus watch again programs and live and recorded BBC radio.<br />It's a shame nobody is doing one for ITV, although saying that, <a href="http://zattoo.com/">"Zatoo"</a> are supposed to be working on a Android version of their player.<br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc8hasMCjLXlwtMNrv7f6q0mekqQhRDkUbQPI-7DmZhemyhvk6luHL7aNJ9_3BUdw5VujgCGmphMdr8dakHjkxFSguQz9VcfUSwp2eN9OOWnJMAxtlkCfSMYUWPMmVGvcA6t1fTZi0u_g/s1600-h/bbc1.png"><img style="margin: 0px auto 10px; display: block; text-align: center; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgc8hasMCjLXlwtMNrv7f6q0mekqQhRDkUbQPI-7DmZhemyhvk6luHL7aNJ9_3BUdw5VujgCGmphMdr8dakHjkxFSguQz9VcfUSwp2eN9OOWnJMAxtlkCfSMYUWPMmVGvcA6t1fTZi0u_g/s320/bbc1.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5349361334074932706" border="0" /></a></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div>Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-38316183620745281522009-06-18T13:31:00.005+01:002010-11-23T12:40:21.713+00:00More on the G1<div style="text-align: center;"><span style="font-size:100%;">Been playing with the Android SDK this week and first thing<br />I've done it to set up screen grabs.<br />What you see below is how the web sites appear on the phone itself. </span><br />This one is viewing the phone in landscape mode ( the phone has auto rotate!)<br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGr_KJW4JeJClBLEih_lg7jzkAy_Aiqtd6UFz7_NTbebgnERzSPENaOnO8KCur2xPbcxJDypkVn7X506wZ7K0SUXEHB2LY7bLgE5q383PGn4mG3sNDhs4l1IuLZOovGrfuRUz_K1PkL8E/s1600-h/G1_2.png"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGr_KJW4JeJClBLEih_lg7jzkAy_Aiqtd6UFz7_NTbebgnERzSPENaOnO8KCur2xPbcxJDypkVn7X506wZ7K0SUXEHB2LY7bLgE5q383PGn4mG3sNDhs4l1IuLZOovGrfuRUz_K1PkL8E/s320/G1_2.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348644823400864482" border="0" /></a><span style=""><br /><br />Below is a shot of my new Commando transmitter page.<br />I had to set that up as Yahoo Geocities have decided to shut down all of their free webspaces.<br /><br /></span></div><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxr94eYZ1LdV8qPCCZrbCn3NmO_8MX5o_yYsi0a29INti05kRtFHwgCnasbs0-aLnRN6hPionKICfQ7hBsDC2h7YV2lWIuUqAZ-qUBp7eKldHt3Fdch6cuBvBh0TlEkEma9Bvto23EiVE/s1600-h/G1_1.png"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 214px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxr94eYZ1LdV8qPCCZrbCn3NmO_8MX5o_yYsi0a29INti05kRtFHwgCnasbs0-aLnRN6hPionKICfQ7hBsDC2h7YV2lWIuUqAZ-qUBp7eKldHt3Fdch6cuBvBh0TlEkEma9Bvto23EiVE/s320/G1_1.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5348644712347809826" border="0" /></a></div>Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-73460927792065394152009-03-16T12:47:00.004+00:002010-11-23T12:40:21.713+00:00Extended battery for T-Mobile G1On Friday morning I ordered a extended power battery for my G1.<br />It's a 2200mAh Li-ion job and comes with a deeper replacement back cover.<br />The original battery is only 1150mAh and costs £19.56 from T-Mobile in the UK.<br />The high power one I brought cost £19.47 with the new back cover! Apparently the same item in the USA has been selling for around $50, so for once the UK is cheaper.<br />I got mine from here, <a href="http://www.superetrader.co.uk/getimage.php?n=images/11056-google-g1-battery.jpg&w=400&h=400">superetrader</a> , oh did I mention, I ordered on Friday morning and received it Saturday morning at 11:45, now that's what I call service!<br />Now does it make a difference? Well I'd say yes, I'm constantly surfing and listening to the <a href="http://91.121.139.31:9056/">WNKR stream</a> using <a href="http://www.streamfurious.com/">Stream furious</a> and normally the original battery would be flat after 4 hours, the new one after only one full charge lasted over 12 hours.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO2mdY16jUE4YTT1ptgvdU47rRONJF7YH73E2KWeahWwCUJFCu7BTJBu0zhNl9r2V2JSJxKW6bQKrxmsE5xWskR9y4-KhVe7uH3ySxMA31rjls8O3LogSS7DRHGe5RF7B5dXkH6bFcLXY/s1600-h/11056-google-g1-battery.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 320px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO2mdY16jUE4YTT1ptgvdU47rRONJF7YH73E2KWeahWwCUJFCu7BTJBu0zhNl9r2V2JSJxKW6bQKrxmsE5xWskR9y4-KhVe7uH3ySxMA31rjls8O3LogSS7DRHGe5RF7B5dXkH6bFcLXY/s320/11056-google-g1-battery.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5313771358162965298" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Well that's all for now, Dave.<br /></div></div>Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-61117748888538456102009-03-14T19:50:00.001+00:002010-11-23T12:40:21.714+00:00Coming soon, update on the T-Mobile G1Yes done a few things with the G1 and got a few add ons, more tomorrow.Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-84392217105390618162009-03-12T15:32:00.002+00:002009-03-12T15:58:26.987+00:00The USA, handguns and Tea!In the light of recent events in the USA I've had 2 things reinforced in my mind.<br />The first is there's still a case for banning public ownership of handguns,<br />ask anyone who lives in Kinston Alabama!<br />Secondly, why should Brit tourists, looking for a decent cup of tea find that not only<br />is Liptonite too weak (I can't see why? It nearly killed Superman!) But they have to<br />hide the blog of their tour from the public incase the FBI/CIA/FCC track them down<br />For subversive behaviour and the promotion of strong brews!Dave Martinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05354116341627980308noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2734405397952121874.post-23016835286055813012009-03-02T16:22:00.003+00:002009-03-16T13:36:38.405+00:00My birthday and real aleWell it's my birthday and I've dragged me self up north to the <a href="http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/s/57/5791/Wellington_Arms/Bedford">Wellington Arms</a> in Bedford. 14 real ales plus loads of Belgium bottled beers. Like the Apple i phone it relies on adding applications to give full functionality. I will say that I see this as a mobile browser that has a phone, as opposed to the other way around! Any way after messing around with it for sometime I realised that I had registered it to the wrong Google account, ( yes it ties a lot of it's app's to a Google account, so you can't use it until you have one! No big sweat.) not a problem though as opposed to what some people say you can easily start over again and put the google account details of your choice in.<br />
Now there's a rather nice <a href="http://radioremote.no-ip.org/rx320/">web receiver</a> over in Bedfordshire and I thought that it'd be nice to access this via the G1, ah but there is no streaming audio facility, a quick trip to the 'Market' and I installed a free application called Antplayer which let me access the receiver's audio stream.<br />
<br />

The internet connection is via the 3G network and is always on, although as it has Wifi as well, when in range of your home or an open network you can connect to that instead!<br />
I still can't stop playing!<br />
